Being a Eighth-Route-Army soldier for one day
There is a new tourist programme, spending a day at the Yellow Cliff Cave as a soldier.
Yellow Cliff Cave is famous not only for its stunning landscape, but also because of a
battle which took place here during the War of resistance against Japanese. It is said
that on November 11,1941, a battalion of 5,000 Japanese soldier attempted to attack the
Yellow Cliff Cave to wipe out the arms base of the Eighty Route Army. One Thousand
soldiers belonging to the Eighth Route Army fought gallantly for eight days and nights and
finally won the battle, killing approximately 1,000 Japanese, sustaining a much lower
casualty rate for their own men. Now Visitors can Join the military training and war
exercise in uniforms of Eight-Route-Army and visit the former ordnance. You may learn a
few Army Songs in times of War of resistance against Japanese.
